ILS Annual Hot Pot Run

Illawarra Live Steamers has held an annual Hot Pot Run invitational event during the 3-day Queen’s Birthday Weekend since 1995.

Locals and visiting club members run trains with as much rolling stock as can be mustered in a railway like fashion.  The weekend is closed to the public, with night running permitted.

The aim of the weekend is to have a relaxing time, exchanging ideas with other live steam enthusiasts and have fun driving our locomotives plus experiencing night time running in balmy Wollongong evening weather.

Entry Fee:  The time-honoured tradition of a donation of 3 cans of soup or $15 per person for the weekend.

Soups are separated into several large 'Hot Pots' for attendee meals. Un-used soup cans are donated to charity.
